PolyU's School of Nursing has developed Hong Kong's first haptic system for nasogastric tube (NGT) placement training, enabling nursing students to practise NGT insertion in a computer-simulated virtual environment.
The University moved up to the 22nd place in the Times Higher Education's Asia University Rankings 2016. Also, it was ranked third in civil engineering in the ShanghaiRanking's Global Ranking of Academic Subjects conducted by the Center for World-Class Universities of Shanghai Jiao Tong University.

Combined with a motion sensor and a laser scanner, the PolyU-developed measurement apparatus can perform in-situ and in-process high dynamic range 3D measurement and instantly display variant values and locations.
