SHTM Successful in Receiving Government Research Funding

Academic research is one of the cornerstones of higher education, and research output clearly demonstrates the strength of an academic institution. In its pursuit of excellence, the SHTM encourages amongst its academic staff a robust research culture. It is this drive for excellence that ensures the School retains its leading status.

Of twenty-three recent applications for funding from the General Research Fund administered by the Research Grants Council of Hong Kong, six projects with SHTM faculty members as Principal Investigators have successfully secured funding.

The funded research projects are as follows.

Principal Investigator Project Title
Dr Eric Chan Environmental Technologies in the Hotel Industry: A Neo-Institutional Perspective
Dr Basak Denizci Guillet Rate Fences in Spa Revenue Management and Application to Chinese Customers: A Fractional Factorial Design Approach
Professor Haiyan Song Modelling International Demand for Tourism Using the Global Vector Autoregressive Approach
