This CoP aims to achieve its goals through:
- Regular meetings with academic staff from different departments about the language needs of students (and staff);
- Seminars provided by staff from ELC and ENGL on various topics, e.g. common English errors; scaffolding strategies to use with students; inclusion of language performance as an assessment criterion;
- Sharing sessions by academic staff from different departments;
- Materials specially written for individual CoP members that they can use with their students to enhance their students’ English ability or to raise their awareness of the academic skills they learnt in ELC subjects;
- CoP website with useful links, checklists, documents and suggestions for staff.
