Aims and Characteristics

Programme Aims:

This programme aims to equip students with solid economic analysis skills with special emphases on the rapid evolution of digital technology and increased importance of data. In addition to comprehensive training in core economic theory, students will have the option to specialize in either applied economics or digital economics.

 

Characteristics:

The Applied Economics stream will allow students to learn modern techniques for analyzing complex data and to use data-driven approaches to analyze and solve real-world economic problems. The Digital Economics stream is intended to provide students with up-to-date knowledge on the developments and outlook of the digital economy, and to train students to examine issues related to the digital economy through the lens of rigorous economic analysis.

 

Recognition & Prospects:

The programme is taught by staff from the School of Accounting and Finance, which is accredited by The Securities and Futures Commission (SFC) of Hong Kong as a recognised institution for providing continuous professional training.
