Keynote Speaker
Mr Eric Chin
Partner Development and Marketing Lead, Microsoft Hong Kong Limited
Mr Chin is a Business graduate of PolyU. Having spent over two decades working in the IT and telecom industry, he is experienced in guiding technology partners to develop their solution offerings, building brands, and creating business development strategies. In his current role, he leads a team that collaborates with cloud-native solution partners, developing a Go-To-Market strategy and supporting their efforts to bring the solutions to market. Besides, he leads a virtual task force dedicated to implementing Microsoft HK’s Smart Places and Sustainability strategy. Prior to joining Microsoft, Mr Chin held various leadership positions in global sales and product marketing business units for one of the largest ICT companies in the region.
Prof. Wong Kwok-yin
Vice President (Education), The Hong Kong Polytechnic University
Prof. Wong is Vice President (Education), Patrick S.C. Poon Professor in Applied Chemistry, and Chair Professor of Chemical Technology at PolyU. He is responsible for planning and developing the University’s teaching and learning initiatives. He leads the development of curriculum, pedagogy, as well as institutional policies and plans for academic quality assurance and for the pursuit of educational excellence. In addition, Prof. Wong is Director of the State Key Laboratory of Chemical Biology and Drug Discovery at PolyU. He was awarded the Natural Science Award (second class) by the Ministry of Education of the Chinese government for his work on biosensor development in 2013.
Prof. Dicky Shek (Panellist & Moderator)
Professor of Practice (MIS), The Hong Kong Polytechnic University
Prof. Shek is a DBA graduate of PolyU. He has spent more than 25 years working in Greater China and the Asia-Pacific region. As a veteran business leader in the technology industry, Prof. Shek not only worked at start-ups but also Fortune 100 Companies, including IBM, Compaq, Dell, Cisco and NTT. Applying his executive and academic insights, he is currently Professor of Practice (Management Information Systems) at the Department of Management and Marketing of PolyU, focusing his teaching, research and consultancy on data, technology, as well as Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG).
Mr Darron Sun (Panellist)
President, The Computing Alumni Association of The Hong Kong Polytechnic University
Mr Sun is a Computing graduate of PolyU. A seasoned professional in IT, FinTech, PropTech, Internal Audit, Cybersecurity and IT Compliance, he has decades of experience leading global financial institutions and public organisations. He is currently Head of Information Technology at the Hong Kong Housing Society, providing visionary leadership in the implementation of various technology initiatives. Before joining the public sector, Mr Sun had spent more than 20 years working at top-tier financial institutions, taking up senior positions such as Assistant Vice President of Information Technology and Asia IT Audit Head. He also devotes himself to social services and professional bodies by serving key roles.
