Spring outing to Tung Lung Chau and Lei Yue Mun

8 Mar 2025

As the vibrant spring season unfolds, the Alumni Affairs Office, in collaboration with the Federation of The Hong Kong Polytechnic University Alumni Associations (FHKPUAA), hosted an alumni event to explore the scenic landscapes of Tung Lung Chau and Lei Yue Mun.

In the morning, 40 alumni and their companions voyaged from Sam Ka Tsuen Pier to Tung Lung Chau. Participants hiked along the trail and reached the northern part of the island, where they enjoyed stunning views of the iconic beacon and the Clear Water Bay Peninsula across the water, capturing memories in photos.

Afterward, the group returned to Sam Ka Tsuen and walked to Lei Yue Mun for a delightful seafood lunch. During the meal, Ir Yau Kwok-fai, President of FHKPUAA, shared the history of PolyU and encouraged support for events at the alma mater. Meanwhile, the “Alumni Tours and Adventures Club” introduced the community and upcoming events, which sparked enthusiasm among the alumni.

It was warm and sunny afternoon, with a gentle breeze, the group visited the Tin Hau Temple and the beacon before arriving at the Lei Yue Mun Quarry. Everyone enjoyed chatting by the coastline, bringing a joyful conclusion to the event.

The pre-launch event of the “Alumni Tours and Adventures Club” was a success. Alumni are warmly invited to join this vibrant community for upcoming journeys of exploration.
