With over 20 years of experience in building services engineering, Ir Gary Chiang Kai-wai has been engaged in various engineering functions, ranging from consultancy and contracting, to energy management, carbon management and safety management. He now focuses on the development of Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) financial business model to help local companies reach the 2050 carbon neutrality target. Apart from his engineering endeavours, he is also involved in the development and promotion of smart home business in the residential sector to boost smart home adoption rate and drive digital transformation. Ir Chiang has been working with local start-up companies to develop smart home solutions with a view to build a smart living concept that conserves energy, improves security and promotes health. With a passion to drive advancement in the industry, he has taken up various posts in professional institutions including Chairman of Energy Institute-HK Branch, and Chair of Chartered Institution of Building Services Engineers. To act as a bridge between the government and the industry, he is also a member of the Working Group nominated by the Electrical and Mechanical Services Department under the HKSAR Government, giving technical advices to the Department and collecting feedback from the industry.
Prof. PENG Jinqing

Prof. Peng Jinqing, a Professor at Hunan University, China, earned his PhD degree from the Department of Building Services Engineering of PolyU before his appointment as a postdoctoral fellow at Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory. A principle investigator of more than 10 competitive research grants, he has published over 150 peer-reviewed papers and was named the youngest Most Cited Chinese Researchers in the building and construction field in 2019. According to Stanford University, Prof. Peng also ranked among the World’s Top 2% most-cited scientists in 2022. In recognition of his outstanding research in building-integrated photovoltaics, he was honoured with the second prize of the Science and Technology Progress Award by the Ministry of Education, China in 2019. Being active in the scholarly circle, he has been on the editorial boards of top international journals, such as Applied Energy, and Engineering. Currently, he serves as the Deputy Director of the Solar Building Committee of the China Renewable Energy Society (CRES) and Vice Director of the Key Laboratory of Building Safety and Energy Efficiency of the Ministry of Education, China.
