Profile of AAE recipient

Mr Max Lee Jwo-lem, a graduate of the Bachelor of Engineering programme in Aviation Engineering from The Hong Kong Polytechnic University, has demonstrated strong entrepreneurial skills. As the Co-Founder and CTO of Lifesparrow Solutions Limited, Mr Lee has developed an AI-based drone search and rescue (SAR) platform that has enhanced the operational efficiency of the Hong Kong Fire Services Department. Under Mr Lee’s leadership, Lifesparrow Solutions has integrated real-time data analysis and advanced imaging technologies into its SAR platform, setting a new industry standard for emergency response operations. By improving the speed and efficiency of rescue missions, his work has attracted media attention, including features on CNN International and in the South China Morning Post. Mr Lee has also been recognised in the Forbes 30 Under 30 Asia list and has received awards in multiple competitions. These include the HK Techathon, in which he emerged as the Smart City category champion; the Hong Kong University Student Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition; and the Hong Kong PhD Fellowship Scheme Award. Mr Lee is currently pursuing his PhD at PolyU under the Hong Kong PhD Fellowship Scheme. His research focuses on seamless positioning and smart city technologies. His work in technological innovation and public safety demonstrates his significant impact on both his profession and his alma mater.
