Dr Siu Chi-kong is a pioneer of adventure counselling in Hong Kong. This unique adventure-based counselling approach integrates social work theory with mountain adventure training, and is widely used in Hong Kong’s social services. Dr Siu has used his approach to help many at-risk young people realign with their goals. In recent years, adventure counselling has also been used in addiction counselling services. After graduating from PolyU, Dr Siu dedicated himself to serving society by founding a voluntary group to serve young people and their families. In 1992, he was selected as one of Hong Kong’s Ten Outstanding Young Persons. In 2012, he became Chairman of the Outstanding Young Persons Association.
