Prof. Chetwyn CHAN

Prof. Chetwyn Chan is Vice President (Research and Development) at The Education University of Hong Kong. Previously, he held various positions at PolyU, the highest being Associate Vice President (Learning and Teaching). Prof. Chan has received numerous prestigious awards both from China and overseas. These include the Global Leadership in Rehabilitation Science Award from Virginia Commonwealth University, the Alumni Honour Award from the University of Alberta, the First Prize in Science and Technology from the Chinese Association of Rehabilitation Medicine, and the Second Class State Scientific and Technology Progress Award from the State Council of the People’s Republic of China. These awards recognise his significant contributions to research and education in the field of rehabilitation. Prof. Chan’s research focuses on understanding the mechanisms underlying human learning, and enhancing the functional capabilities of individuals with disabilities and older populations. He has authored over 200 research papers and has successfully secured more than HK$40 million in competitive research and development grants.
