Dr Jing YU
Tenured Associate Professor, School of Foreign Languages, Shanghai Jiao Tong University
Dr Yu Jing is a Tenured Associate Professor at Shanghai Jiao Tong University (SJTU), where she is renowned for her innovative research in translation studies. Her interdisciplinary approach has significantly impacted descriptive translation and dialect translation, and has led to over 30 published papers in international and Chinese journals. Her monograph—Dialect, Voice, and Identity in Chinese Translation— has received acclaim. By leading research-funded projects and earning academic honours, Dr Yu plays a pivotal role in advancing translation studies. Her academic excellence has been recognised with prestigious accolades, including the Dean's Award for Research Excellence in 2023, and the Outstanding Young Teacher Award in 2018. Dr Yu also oversees the PolyU– SJTU collaborative undergraduate dual-degree and master’s degree programmes, enhancing the academic prestige and international reach of both institutions.
Ms Waverly YEUNG Yuk-mui

Ms Waverly Yeung Yuk-mui is a PolyU Chinese and Bilingual Studies alumna who has dedicated her career to promoting community development and connecting socially conscious leaders in different fields. She believes in achieving sustainable development by helping businesses create positive social impacts, and advocates for ethical values in Hong Kong's business and education communities. Through her involvement with organisations such as JCI City Lady and The Yelites Association, Ms Yeung has honed her skills in fundraising, member engagement, and innovative problem-solving. She has led campaigns benefitting underprivileged families, organised toy drives for children in makeshift hospitals, and coordinated festive donations. Despite receiving accolades, Ms Yeung measures her success by the lasting impact she leaves on the lives of those she has helped, inspiring others to align their professional pursuits with their values to achieve positive change for future generations.
