Under Prof. Liu Guoxiang's leadership, the Faculty of Geosciences and Engineering at Southwest Jiaotong University has become one of the top schools of the institution. Prof. Liu plays a pivotal role in the Faculty’s academic framework, teaching radar remote sensing and providing expert mentorship to postgraduate and doctoral candidates. His pedagogical excellence has been recognised by several prestigious awards, including twice winning first prize in the Technology Progress Award at the State Science and Technology Prizes, and winning the Excellent Teaching Work Award from the Sichuan government, underscoring his commitment to educational excellence. Over the past two decades, Prof. Liu has been at the forefront of radar remote sensing research, making substantial contributions to geological disaster prevention and high-speed railway safety in China. His leadership is evident through his successful guidance of nearly 20 significant research projects—a testament to his expertise and dedication. His leadership is complemented by his prolific academic output, which includes three monographs and nearly 250 journal articles, reflecting his profound influence in the field.
Miss Pinky LEE Tsz-ki

Miss Pinky Lee Tsz-ki has achieved remarkable entrepreneurial success in the utility surveying and engineering industry. After serving as Technical Manager at CASTCO Testing Centre Limited, she established her own company, Signature Consulting and Engineering Limited. As Executive Director, Miss Lee guides the company’s strategic direction and leads its operations. She uses advanced technologies such as 3D laser scanning and ground-penetrating radar to provide high-quality services to her clients. Within the utility sector, the company is currently growing and is currently engaged as a Utility Specialist for a significant Government project. Beyond running her own business, Miss Lee has also hired, trained, and mentored over 20 graduates and summer interns from the Department of Land Surveying and Geo-Informatics (LSGI), helping pave the way for their careers. She also actively promotes LSGI programmes to the next generation of students by delivering engaging secondary school talks, inspiring others with her entrepreneurial journey and success.
