Being a local type designer, Mr Adonian Chan redefines the city’s visual culture with his Hong Kong Beiwei Zansyu. Since 2010, he has led his typography-based design studio, Trilingua Design, to provide services encompassing branding, visual identity, environmental graphic, publication design and multimedia design. His years of research on the typography and calligraphy heritage of Hong Kong led to him co-authoring A study on Hong Kong Beiwei Calligraphy & Type Design, which went on to win the Grand Award at the Hong Kong Publishing Biennial Awards 2019. A proud recipient of the DFA Hong Kong Young Design Talent Award, Mr Chan has come up with the type design Hong Kong Beiwei Zansyu, a winning entry of the 24th TDC Typeface Design Competition that revives the unique signage lettering.
