Prof. Chris Lo Kwan-yu co-founded Immune Materials Ltd (IML), specialising in 3D-printed antiviral and antibacterial plastic products. In response to the fifth wave of COVID-19, IML introduced IMU+® technology in January 2022 and rapidly deployed it in high-risk settings; proven to wipe out up to 99.9% of common bacteria and 99.2% of COVID-19 variants within 20 minutes, the IMU+® products and materials are guaranteed to stay effective for up to three years even if their surfaces are damaged. While benefiting the wider public, Prof. Lo remains dedicated to projects assisting vulnerable communities, extending his mission to protecting people, fostering inclusivity, and expanding their market presence in mainland China. Throughout his academic career, Prof. Lo has garnered numerous accolades, including the 2020 Jack Meredith Best Paper Award and multiple Asia International Innovation Invention Awards for his outstanding achievements in the field.
