Prof. Chung Chi-yung is an accomplished researcher in the field of power systems engineering. Apart from having over 170 international journal papers, 3 book chapters and 3 U.S. patents, he has developed new commercial software packages widely used for power system analysis. Accolades he earned include the 2021 IEEE Canada P. Ziogas Electric Power Award and the 2021 Saskatoon Engineering Society Educator of the Year Award. He has also held leadership positions in professional societies, such as serving as a Member-at-Large of the IEEE PES Governing Board, Chairman of the IEEE Hong Kong Section, and General Chair of the IEEE EPEC2017 and IEEE PES APPEEC2014.
