Having been a senior executive at local and overseas engineering consultancies, Mr Gary Ng has emerged as an AIpreneur who revolutionises the construction industry. He launched viAct in 2019, which is a cloud-based construction surveillance platform that utilises not only AI computer vision but also scenario-based vision intelligence to provide real-time and on-site data analyses. With over 50 AI modules developed since its inception, viAct has boosted productivity, multiplied cost-effectiveness and ensured construction safety for over 100 projects in Hong Kong, Southeast Asia, Europe and the Middle East. In 2022, this ConTech start-up became the first-ever Hong Kong company to be honoured by Europe’s Josef Umdasch Research Prize, and made it to the Forbes Asia 100 to Watch list.
