Recognised by Tatler Asia’s Gen.T List, Mr Julius Hui Hon-man is an accomplished type designer in Hong Kong who created the Chinese nameplate for The New York Times and the Chinese logotype for Bloomberg BusinessWeek. During his tenure with Monotype, he not only led his team to localise Intel’s branding font for the Greater China Region, but also took the Hong Kong-based company to the global level by developing the Tencent Chinese font family. A typeface of over 7,000 characters, it is now effortlessly recognisable in all areas of digital life in China. As a leader linking technology with old traditional Chinese characters, this DFA Hong Kong Young Design Talent Awardee was invited to be a speaker of the global talk “Creating an Exclusive Corporate World-Font” at the TYPO Berlin 2017 conference.
