Prof. Xiao Fu has been doing innovative multidisciplinary research on smart buildings and smart energy system management, with particular foci on dynamic modelling of building energy systems, optimal control and diagnosis of building and energy systems, as well as big data analytics and AI for smart energy-efficient and resilient buildings. Her works have been funded by the Ministry of Science and Technology (MOST) of China, Hong Kong Research Grant Council (RGC), Innovation and Technology Fund (ITF), National Science Foundation of China (NSFC), Environment and Conservation Fund of Hong Kong, and other industrial sponsors. Having applied the research outcomes to many buildings with significant energy savings, Prof. Xiao has earned a lot of accolades, such as 2018 Outstanding ICAE Paper Award, 2017 Annual Best Paper Award in Journal of Refrigeration, ASHRAE Technology Award 2014, and so on.
