Ir Prof. Ni Yiqing has been striving to internationalise the innovative technologies developed by PolyU, thereby benefitting the wider community. Having garnered over 40 awards and patents, he is an experienced researcher in Structural Dynamics and Control, Structural Health Monitoring, Smart Materials and Structures, Sensors and Actuators, Nonlinear Oscillation, Monitoring and Control in Rail Engineering. One of his innovative works is the Mega-structure Diagnostic and Prognostic System, which has been developed for the world’s highest TV tower Canton Tower, the world’s longest main span cable-stayed bridge Sutong Bridge (STB), as well as Shenzhen Stock Exchange’s new headquarter. It won the Gold Award in the 37th International Exhibition of Inventions, Prize of the Technological University Malek-Ashtar in I.R. Iran, as well as Golden Prize in China International Industry Fair.
