Prof. Philip Yeung Kwok-wing has not only made a significant impact on Hong Kong’s textiles industry, but also had a long history of involvement with PolyU. When he was Vice President (Academic Development) of the University, he oversaw the design of many interdisciplinary subjects and helped to establish HKCyberU, the first virtual university in Hong Kong. Alongside his achievements in the academic sphere, Prof. Yeung established the Society of Textile Scientists and Engineers Asia, and was the Founding Chairman of the Hong Kong Institution of Textile and Apparel. Besides serving on the advisory boards of industry journals like Research Journal of Textiles and Apparel, he has also been a Chartered Textile Technologist, and a Fellow of The Textile Institute and the Society of Dyers and Colourists in the UK, the Hong Kong Institution of Textile and Apparel, and the Textile Association in India.
