Dr Rico Chan is a social entrepreneur who enables the visually impaired to learn, work and experience the visual world through technology. He founded Beyond Vision Projects (BVP) in 2016, transforming his years of research work into the Tactile-Audio Interaction System (TAIS), Tactile Visual Vocabulary System (TVVS) and Tactile Colour System (TCS). They are all revolutionary inventions that allow the visually impaired to “see” the surrounding environment through senses of touch and hearing. Dr Chan’s efforts in repurposing technology for social inclusiveness have earned BVP millions of funding from the respected Robert H. N.
