To cater for the large number of registrations for the “85A Alumni Tourcation – A Trip between Past and Present” at the beginning of this month, an extra tour was held on 24 September 2022. Around 40 alumni came back to PolyU for an exploration of new infrastructures while rekindling their nostalgic memories. On that day, the alumni group departed from Pauline Tsang Po Yan Gallery at the Alumni Atrium. They first visited the recently unveiled PolyU Main Entrance, which is an instaworthy attraction with the University’s symbolic red brick architecture and a distinctive colonnade design. After that, they entered the Pao Yue-kong Library to go on their first visit to the new 6/F – a glasshouse architecture with abundant natural light and panoramic views of the campus as well as the Victoria Harbour. Following the itinerary of the last tour, the participants also went to the Jockey Club Innovation Tower, enjoying the PolyU Design Show 2022 and getting to know the PolyU InnoHub. Finally, the alumni crossed the footbridge dynamically linking the Main Campus to Block Z, where vivid memories of their campus life came flooding back in a lecture room home to the Faculty of Construction and Environment. We were delighted to have received favourable feedback about the tour, as well as enthusiastic response regarding future visits to other sites and laboratories of PolyU. Thank you for your support, and let’s continue to have fun in the upcoming “85A Alumni Tourcations” !
