In order to celebrate the 65th Anniversary of The Hong Kong Polytechnic University, and to promote friendship and exchange of sport culture among universities from Hong Kong, Macau, Taiwan and the Chinese Mainland, the Student Affairs Office is organizing a large-scale Soccer Invitation Tournament.

A total of 8 participating teams will compete in this 4-day Tournament and they are : Macau University , Taiwan National Yunlin University of Science & Technology, Sichuan University, Tsinghua University, Donghua University, Zhejiang University, Zhongshan University and The Hong Kong Polytechnic University. The competitions will be held in soccer fields at Joint Sports Centre and LCSD sports grounds.

The Hon Mrs Rita Fan Hsu Lai-tai GBS JP, Mr Zhao Guang Ting, The Hon Timothy Fok Tsun-ting SBS JP, and Mr Paul Leung Sai-wah JP have been invited to officiate at the opening and closing ceremonies. The patron of this Tournament is Mr Lam Tai Fai.

為慶祝香港理工大學建校六十五周年，並推動兩岸四地高等院校的體育文化交流，促進彼此之間的友誼，學生事務處正積極籌備是次「兩岸四地大學足球邀請賽」。

八支參賽隊伍將於四日賽事中互相切磋，參賽隊伍包括澳門大學、台灣國立雲林科技大學、四川大學、清華大學、東華大學、浙江大學、中山大學及香港理工大學，賽事將於聯校運動中心及康樂文化事務署場地舉行。

是次盛事由理大校友林大輝先生出任賽事贊助人，更榮幸邀請了立法會主席范徐麗泰女士、中聯辦宣傳文體部部長趙廣廷先生、中國香港奧林匹克委員會會長霍震霆先生及康樂及文化事務署署長梁世華先生出任開幕及閉幕禮之主禮嘉賓。
