The rapid development of information technology has catalysed stupendous economic growth through electronic business. It is envisaged that e-Business will take the lead in this digital Internet economy. This symposium, organised by the Faculty of Business and Information Systems, in concert with its five constituent Departments, aims to explore the possibilities and limitations of e-Business in the 21st century. It will serve the purpose of establishing a strong collaboration link among worldwide leading scholars and the business community in the region. It will be held at the Jockey Club Auditorium, The Hong Kong Polytechnic University and attract academics, business people and the professional communities, as well as individuals who are interested in this topic.

The symposium series comprises five sessions, hosted by each of the five constituent Departments, with presentations given by academics and professionals of global eminence. A tea reception will precede each of the sessions.

資訊科技發展一日千里，促成了迅速的經濟發展，其中電子商貿更擔當了重要的角色。在現今數碼網絡經濟的環境中，電子商貿勢將成為商業活動的主流。由香港理工大學商管及資訊系統學院聯同所屬五個學系舉辦、以「電子商貿」為主題的研討會系列，將會探討電子商貿在二十一世紀所帶來的機遇和面對的局限。此外，透過是次活動，可促進來自世界各地的學者和工商界的聯繫和溝通。研討會將於香港理工大學賽馬會綜藝館舉行，歡迎學術界和業內人士，以及對本研討會題目有興趣的人士參與。

研討會分為五個講座，各由學院所屬的五個學系負責，並於研討會前舉行茶會招待。享譽國際的學者和業界人士將於會中發表演說。
