Objective:
To recognize the efforts of undergraduate students in the Department of Applied Physics, who demonstrate exceptional non-academic achievements, contributing positively to the university community or society at large. The scope and extent of contributions will be elaborated by applicants and judged by a panel of Academic Staff members.
Scholarship:
HKD 10,000 for each award
Eligibility Criteria:
Applicants must be currently registered for undergraduate degree programme in AP.
If the application involves activities that include both AP and non-AP students, only the AP students concerned are eligible for application.
Student’s should not have any disciplinary/ criminal record during her/his study.
Applicants must have demonstrated outstanding achievements, which is not necessarily academic-related. These may include, but are not limited to:
- Leadership roles in established organizations or community projects with significant contributions;
- Significant achievement in arts, sports, cultural or academic activities (e.g. 1st prize in international competitions);
- Start-up business with significant impact;
- Prominent scholarly contributions (e.g. publication of high-impact research papers as first authors; best poster award in major international conferences)
- Other notable achievements that have brought recognition to the University or Department.
Academic performance of the applicant is NOT part of the selection criteria.
Prize:
Recipients will be presented with a certificate, alongside with the cash prize.
Recipients concerned have the responsibility to participate in related promotion activities (interview or joining of activities).
