Summary
Master of Arts in Marriage and Family Therapy (婚姻及家庭治療文學碩士) programme is now inviting applications for September 2024 entry. This programme is designed for practising social workers and related human-service professionals who are interested in working with individuals, couples and families.
Programme Highlights
Accreditation and Membership
- Our programme is fully accredited by the Hong Kong Professional Counselling Association (HKPCA). Completion of the Practicum course qualifies graduates for 180 supervised practice hours, meeting the requirement for HKPCA Candidate of Certified Counsellor.
- Graduates who complete 30 credits can apply for membership in the Hong Kong Marriage and Family Therapy Association (HKMFTA).
- With 43 credits, you can fulfil coursework and half of the supervised direct client contact hours requirements for Clinical Membership in the American Association for Marriage and Family Therapy (AAMFT).
Flexible Learning
- Our mixed-mode programme offers the flexibility to study full-time or part-time, allowing you to balance your studies with your professional commitments.
Scholarships
- Entry scholarships will be provided to eligible students!
Programme Structure
Complete a 30-credit master’s degree in 1.5 years full-time or 3 years part-time. Students may also consider taking additional credits to prepare for application for Clinical Membership in the AAMFT. For details, please visit our Admission Website.

The application deadline is 30 April 2024. Shortlisted applicants will be invited to attend an admission interview. We encourage early submission of your application.
