Election of Student Members to Senate and Senate Committees 2024/25
Senate is the highest authority on all academic-related matters within the University. Chaired by the President, other members of Senate include the Deputy President and Provost, Vice-Presidents, Deans, Heads of academic departments and units, Chair Professors, academic staff elected by their peers or co-opted by Senate, and student representatives. Its powers and duties are detailed in the Statute of Senate.
42 student member vacancies are open for election to Senate, Senate Committees and Faculty/School Boards in this exercise. They will serve for a 1-year term of office from 1 November 2024 to 31 October 2025.

Nomination Period [9 - 22 Sep 2024 (by 11.59 pm)]
All nomination forms should be returned to the Academic Registry by email at senate.election@polyu.edu.hk by 11.59 pm on Sunday, 22 September 2024.

Announcement of Nominations (23 Sep 2024) / Confirmation of Nominations (2 Oct 2024)
List of nominations will be announced on Monday, 23 September 2024. If the Nominees wish to withdraw their consent to the nomination, they should submit a notice in writing to the Election Officer via email at senate.election@polyu.edu.hk on or before Monday, 30 September 2024.

Online Polling [18 (9 am) - 21 Oct 2024 (11.59 pm)]
Voting by secret ballot will be conducted via an online platform during the period from 9.00 am on Friday, 18 October to 11.59 pm on Monday, 21 October 2024 (Hong Kong Time).
The voting rates as at 5.00pm of 21 October 2024 are now available here.

Announcement of Election Results (22 Oct 2024)
Election results will be announced on 22 October 2024 via email.

Period for Lodging Complaints (23 - 24 Oct 2024)
Any complaint arising from the conduct of the election shall be lodged with the Election Officer within 24 hours of the announcement of the result of the election.
Confirmation of final election results will be announced on Friday, 25 October 2024 subject to no complaints being received.
