The research papers submitted by our four PhD research students to the CIOB(HK)Outstanding Paper Awards 2018 in late July 2018 were adjudicated as the Gold Award and another 3 Commendation Awards (Category: Research Postgraduate Students) out of 6submissions from the Department of Building and Real Estate (BRE) of PolyU. Heart felt congratulations to those students and their respective PhD supervisors for winning the seprestigious awards. Each winner received an Award Certificate and a Prize Cheque from the Guest of Honour, Mr Michael Wong Wai-lun (黃偉綸), JP, Secretary for Development(發展局局長) of the Hong Kong SAR Government, during the CIOB(HK) 45th Anniversary Dinner 2018 held on Friday, 21 September 2018 at the New World Millennium Hong Kong Hotel, Tsim Sha Tsim, Kowloon, Hong Kong.
The primary aims of the CIOB(HK) Outstanding Paper Awards 2018 are to promote the excellence in construction management, and to inspire students to explore and share smart construction approaches with focus on the theme “Smart Construction Collaborate Excellence” to advance development in the construction industry. The selection criteria were mainly based on the papers with research aims fitting the stated theme, innovative orientated, original contribution to new knowledge,together with solid conclusions and recommendations for practice.
