The University Square is sited at the heart of campus, which was designed in the 70’s and has been a space heavily concealed in a diverse of vegetation. The project rejuvenates the existing open space to enrich campus life and inspire sustainability. Environmental conscious and user-oriented design have always been one of the key principles at the University, therefore a multifunctional space that harmonises with the natural surroundings has been created.

The conserved veteran trees of the University Square not merely serve as the natural canopy but also as a reminder of the campus's rich history and commitment to preserving its environment. The shaded spots provide a relaxing area that fosters a sense of community and belonging and encourage collaboration among students, staff and visitors through thoughtfully designed landscape furniture, seating arrangements and gathering spaces. As a multifunctional space, the square can transform into an area for a variety of events including leisure, flag rising ceremony, banquets, a natural background for photo taking and many more.
