Congratulations to Dr E Deng, Dr Yang Zhang (Postdoctoral Fellows of CEE), Mr Yan-Ke Tan, Mr Xin Ye (PhD Students of CEE) and Mr Yu-Ling Wang (Research Assistant of CEE), from the Hong Kong Branch of the National Rail Transit Electrification and Automation Engineering Technology Research Center (CNERC-Rail) supervised by Prof. Yi-Qing Ni (Director of CNERC-Rail and Chair Professor of CEE), whose project titled “Bridge Vibration Reconstruction and Damage Detection Based on Echo State Network with Multi-dimensional and Multi-scale Convolution”, won the Third Prize in the 3rd International Competition for Structural Health Monitoring (IC-SHM 2022). The team participated in Project 3: Lost Data Reconstruction and Damage Identification, and stood out among the 45 submissions received from 9 regions.
The competition is organized by the Asia-Pacific Network of Centers for Research in Smart Structures Technology (ANCRiSST), Tongji University, Harbin Institute of Technology, and University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. The aim of the competition is to explore more effective data analysis methods and provide new ideas for students and young researchers in different fields to develop structural health monitoring technology.
