I am very grateful to have been nominated for the CEE Entry Scholarship for outstanding HKDSE Students. It is my pleasure to share the words below, and I hope they are helpful to you.

Many people may not be familiar with civil engineers as they may take nearly all the conveniences around them for granted. They may not appreciate when clean water comes out from the tap, when they live in houses that are protected from strong winds, or when they can safely walk beside one slope after another. However, none of these would happen without civil engineers, and this is why I chose CEE. Their unremitting endeavours in pursuit of better living conditions for humankind may not be known to most people. Their mission resonates with me, and I also want to contribute to the development of our society.

When deciding on my JUPAS choices, I considered different potential career paths. CEE showed me its unique powerful alumni network which can facilitate students’ studies and future prospects. Moreover, as our society is recovering from the pandemic, many opportunities for future development have emerged. With practical training provided by CEE, we can equip ourselves well and capitalise on such opportunities.

University life could be hugely different from secondary school life. There are people with greater diversity, different teaching modes, and a more flexible learning schedule. Embrace them with a positive mind and seek help from seniors and academic advisors from CEE when needed.
