CEE/CSE 50th Anniversary Symposium: The Future of Occupational Safety and Health — Local and Global Perspective
The symposium on "The Future of Occupational Safety and Health — Local and Global Perspective" took place successfully on 13 May 2023. The event was graced by the keynote speaker, Ir Thomas Ho (Chairman of Construction Industry Council), along with three other plenary speakers: Mr John Lacey (former President of Institution of Occupational Safety and Health), Er Ho Siong Hin (Senior Director of Ministry of Manpower, Singapore), and Mr Tony Small (Director of Gammon Construction Ltd.).
The symposium was a great platform for exchange of ideas and insights on the challenges and opportunities of occupational safety and health, both locally and globally. The speakers highlighted the importance of implementing effective safety measures and creating a safe working environment for employees, especially in the construction industry where safety hazards are high.
The keynote speaker, Ir Thomas Ho, shared his vast experience and knowledge on occupational safety, which was highly informative and thought-provoking. The plenary speakers also shared their valuable perspectives and experiences, providing the audience with a well-rounded understanding of the topic.
Overall, the symposium was a great success and we are grateful to all the speakers who shared their time and expertise with us. We would also like to thank the unwavering support from our seven sponsors and 13 supporting organisations. It is our hope to cooperate with more industrial partners and work towards making workplaces safer and healthier for everyone.
