BEng (Hons) Scheme in Civil Engineering & Sustainable Development, Year 1;
Recipient of CEE Entry Scholarship 2023/24 – HK$100,000
As a freshman majoring in Civil Engineering and Sustainable Development, it is my pleasure to be nominated for the CEE Entry Scholarship for Outstanding HKDSE Student.
I chose CEE in JUPAS based on my interest. When I was Secondary 3, I was amazed by theories and environmental problems I learnt in Physics and Geography lessons, so I decided to choose a subject which is related to these electives. Moreover, I am curious about how different buildings are able to solve common environmental and social problems after watching a video about engineering. As more environmental problems arise in recent years, I wish I can construct structures to alleviate the issues, to protect the beautiful nature I saw in Geography lessons.
It is very hard to adapt to university life since it is much different compared to secondary school life due to the timetable and the ambience. I have to spend some time in order to figure out what I have to do during the seminar or what I have to prepare for the upcoming lessons. However, I adapt to it by facing the changes and not avoiding them. I know there will be many challenges in the upcoming seminars, but I am looking forward to overcoming them.
