Judging Criteria
The judging team will score the entries based on the following aspects:

• Message expression
• Originality
• Photographic technique

Adjudicators
All entries will be judged by professional photographers.

Entry Formats

• All entries must be taken within 12 months and have not been awarded any prizes before.
• Each entry should have a title and size in 8” x 12” colour photo.
• You may submit as many entries as you wish and each print is considered as one entry but each applicant will only be awarded one prize at most.
• No entry will be returned.
• No confirmation will be sent to the applicant on receiving the entry.

Prizes
First, Second, Third and Merit prizes, sponsored by Canon Hongkong Co., Ltd., will be presented for each category.

1st Prize: Canon EOS 400D Digital SLR Camera Kit Set

2nd Prize: Canon Digital IXUS 900Ti Digital Compact Camera

3rd Prize: Canon PowerShot A550 Digital Compact Camera

Merit Prizes: Canon PIXMA iP1880 Photo Printer

Rules & Regulations:

• Each applicant must be the original photographer of the submitted entry.
• The copyright of all images used in the material submitted will be owned by the applicant.
• PolyU holds the right to reproduce, use all or part of the submitted material for exhibition, publication, web site and all publicity and record purposes.
• If your entry is selected by the judges, you will be required to submit the original film negative or digital file (4.0 Megapixel or above), which will not be returned.
• Colour, brightness and contrast adjustments as well as dust removal or similar retouching techniques are allowed. No artificial works are eligible.

Submit the completed form together with your entry in person or mail to Communications and Public Affairs Office at M1604, 16/F, Li Ka Shing Tower, The Hong Kong Polytechnic University, Hung Hom. All entries must be postmarked on or before 2 October 2007.

Deadline for Entries
2 October 2007

Results Notifications
All winners will be notified in October 2007 by email and a prize presentation ceremony will be held in December 2007.

Exhibition of Winning Works
All winning works will be exhibited at PolyU in December 2007.
