The three sets of lines surrounding the PolyU logo add up to a total of 75, each representing one year. Apart from symbolising that PolyU has a proud history of 75 years, the lines are also specially presented to showcase both a sense of solidarity among PolyU members and the capability to extend our reach to the wider world.

The logo also carries the theme of our 75th anniversary celebrations — “Innovation and Application for the Future” — which exactly captures the essence of the vision and mission of PolyU, an applied university.

The logo is vividly designed by PolyU outstanding alumnus Mr Freeman Lau Siu-hong. A renowned home-grown designer, Mr Lau is Partner of Kan & Lau Design Consultants, Vice- chairman of the Board of Directors of Hong Kong Design Centre, and Adjunct Professor of PolyU’s School of Design.
