On behalf of Hong Kong Science and Technology Parks Corporation (HKSTPC), it is my pleasure to congratulate The Hong Kong Polytechnic University (PolyU) as it enters its seventy-fifth year of excellence in the provision of higher learning and research. Sharing a similar passion for promoting innovation, we fully realise the immense challenges that such an undertaking involves, as well as the satisfaction that can be derived.Over the years, PolyU has introduced to the world such breakthroughs as a biosensor for detecting antibiotics in foodstuffs; the first cellulose-made shape memory fabric; the first home-grown electronic vehicle mycar; and more recently, myopia-retarding contact lenses. These achievements, and many others, have helped to further raise the stature of Hong Kong as a centre of innovation and technological advancement.
PolyU’s commitment to excellence and innovation subsequently led to collaborative arrangements with HKSTPC. Having served as a strategic partner of our premier InnoAsia event, which focuses on sustainable development, we value the close tie that has been forged and look to build on this relationship moving forward.
Once again, congratulations on reaching this significant milestone, and I trust that The Hong Kong Polytechnic University will continue to make its mark on the world stage with greater breakthroughs to come.
