I am pleased to congratulate The Hong Kong Polytechnic University on the occasion of its 80th anniversary.
For the past 80 years, being the first publicly funded post-secondary technical institution in Hong Kong, The Hong Kong Polytechnic University has gone through several stages of development and become a university with 29,978 total student enrolment in 2015/16, and with numerous honorary graduates such as Sir Run Run shaw, Donald Tsang and Chun-ying Leung.
The graduates of The Hong Kong Polytechnic University have made significant contributions in their chosen fields, including science and engineering. I congratulate the Hong Kong Polytechnic University in nurturing graduates who are critical, effective and innovative and making Hong Kong a more competitive city.
