PolyU’s innovation meets application again. Prof. Eric Cheng of PolyU’s Department of Electrical Engineering has recently worked together with Green Power Industrial Ltd, an environmental industry partner, to develop an automobile air-conditioning system powered by solar energy. With the support of Swire Coca-Cola Hong Kong, the system has been installed on the top of a truck for carrying beverages and proved to work on the road.

As the truck is moving, the solar panel on the top will automatically collect solar energy and save it in a specially designed battery system. Even when the driver stops the vehicle and switched off, he can still enjoy the air-conditioning powered by solar energy. Details>>
