Recently, Prof. Hu Jinlian of PolyU Institute of Textiles and Clothing (ITC) has been awarded the “County Mayor Award” by the Shaoxing County People’s Government for her longtime and successful collaboration with the Zhejiang Institute of Modern Textile in Shaoxing.

Prof. Hu has been working on shape memory polymers for textiles and medical applications for many years, winning her awards and international recognition. Under her leadership, ITC’s Shape Memory Textiles Centre has developed into one of three major centres of shape memory polymers in the world.
