PolyU ranked No.1 in engineering research funding

In the Research Grants Council (RGC)’s 2009/10 General Research Fund (GRF) exercise, PolyU came first in the engineering disciplines with an allocation of more than $45 million for 68 projects, which accounted for about 28.4 per cent of the total funding in this category.

PolyU is the best performer among various UGC-funded institutions in three engineering disciplines, including the "civil engineering, surveying, building and construction” discipline (awarded about $14.5 million), which PolyU has been the first for eight consecutive years since 2001/02, "electrical and electronic engineering” discipline (awarded about $13 million), and “mechanical, production and industrial engineering” discipline (awarded about $14 million).

In addition, PolyU will receive $37 million for another 45 projects in various disciplines.
