At the 2009 China International Industry Fair recently held in Shanghai, PolyU won the Gold Prize for its “Mega-structure Diagnostic and Prognostic System” and the Innovation Prize for its “Micro-injection Moulding Machine”.

The "Mega-structure Diagnostic and Prognostic System” was developed by an inter-disciplinary project team led by Prof. Ko Jan-ming, Vice President, and Dr Ni Yi-qing, Associate Professor of the Department of Civil and Structural Engineering; while the “Micro-injection Moulding Machine" was developed by Prof. Yung Kai-leung, Associate Head of the Department of Industrial and System Engineering.

It was also the first time that the national event presented a Gold Prize to a tertiary institution from the HKSAR. Details >>
