Chairman and Executive Director of KFM Kingdom Holdings Limited (KFM Kingdom), Mr Peter Sun is known as a prominent industrialist. He founded a small metal manufacturing company in 1987 and named it ‘Kingdom’, showing his determination to build his own kingdom in the industrial arena. After more than two decades, KFM Kingdom has now established itself as a leading precision metal manufacturing company in the industry and was listed on the Main Board of The Stock Exchange of Hong Kong Limited in October 2012.
Mr Sun has committed himself to supporting innovation and knowledge transfer. In 2003, he collaborated with PolyU through EuAuto Technology Limited to develop mycar, an electric vehicle. From the design, research and development stages to the official launch of mycar in 2009, Mr Sun invested over US$10 million, and in so, gave full support to the research project and the development of eco-technology. Mycar went on to develop an international reputation and successfully tapped into the US and European markets.
Mr Sun has been dedicated to community service, serving on various committees of the HKSAR Government, professional bodies and charitable organizations. He is a member of the Vetting Committee of the Professional Services Development Assistance Scheme of the HKSAR Government, a member of the Innovation and Technology Support Programme Assessment Panel (Automotive Parts and Accessory Systems Subgroup) under the Innovation and Technology Fund of the Innovation and Technology Commission, Honorary Chairman of the Hong Kong (SME) Economic and Trade Promotional Association Limited, Vice President of the Hong Kong Young Industrialists Council Foundation, Chairman of Sau Mau Ping District Junior Police Call Honorary President Association and Chairman of Hong Kong Blind Sports Federation Limited, etc. Mr Sun has also devoted himself and made significant contributions to the nation’s development. He is a Committee Member of Anhui Provincial Committee as well as a member of Shenzhen Nanshan District Standing Committee of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference and President of Shenzhen Nanshan Foreign Enterprise’s Chamber of Commerce, etc.
The outstanding contributions Mr Sun has made to society and the industry have earned him numerous awards including Young Industrialist Award of Hong Kong 1999 from the Federation of Hong Kong Industries, Director Of The Year Award from the Hong Kong Institute of Directors and Shenzhen Excellent Young Entrepreneur award in 2001. He was also named the Bauhinia Cup Outstanding Entrepreneur Award by PolyU in 2002 and awarded the Medal of Honour by the HKSAR Government in 2006 in recognition of his contributions to the development of the manufacturing industry.
