PolyU recently received a Special Merit Award (non-commercial category) presented by the Hong Kong Red Cross Blood Transfusion Service in recognition of the University's extraordinary contribution in organizing blood donation programmes.

Since 1973, PolyU's School of Nursing has organized 57 Blood Donation Weeks with the blood donation days sum up to 227, which is the highest among local tertiary institutions.
