For the first time, the School of Design is staging its Annual Show in galleries and open-studios on multiple floors of the Jockey Club Innovation Tower. In celebration of its 50th Anniversary, the School has purposely set the theme of this year’s Annual Show as “Design for ?” The objective is to encourage designers to explore the changes of today’s core values in the next 50 years.
The Show displays creative ideas from a variety of design disciplines including advertising, digital media, environment and interior, industrial and product, interactive media, as well as visual communication. In addition, multimedia projects and installations making innovative use of technologies are being showcased. Highlights of the exhibition are as follows:
Advertising design: A Piece of Good Life by Dick Au
Dick has proposed an innovative and comprehensive advertising campaign on building a living place for stray cows and constructively turning cow waste into mosquito repellent, potted plant fertilizer etc. to rectify the infamy of the cattle.
Product design: homeRecipe by Jenny Tong
Jenny has designed a mobile cooking workshop connecting housewives who wish to share their authentic recipes with the community, with an aim to improve their confidence and strengthen social cohesion.
The Annual Show is open free of charge to public until 12 July (Monday to Saturday from 11:30 am to 7:30 pm). Details>>
