Fully committed to faculty development and classroom excellence, PolyU's School of Hotel and Tourism Management (SHTM) received a special award lately from the American Hotel and Lodging Educational Institute at the Asia Pacific CHRIE Conference.

The Institute commended SHTM for its strong endorsement of the Certified Hospitality Educator (CHE) Programme with accredited programme first launched in 1995. Over the years, SHTM has hosted 21 workshops through which 347 hospitality and tourism faculties were developed and over 3,200 CHEs (over 10% of CHE population) were certified.

As Dean of SHTM Prof. Kaye Chon put it, SHTM places high importance on maintaining teaching quality and the workshops have enhanced hospitality education by making the teaching more engaging, interesting and effective. Details>
