Recently, PolyU received a Certificate of Gold Award in the Yan Oi Tong Plastic Recycling Partnership Scheme 2013-14 (School Sector) in recognition of its efforts in promoting plastic recycling with at least 1,200 kg of plastics collected annually. The University has long been promoting waste source separation and recycling on campus. The collected plastics are sent to Yan Oi Tong EcoPark Plastic Resources Recycling Centre for processing as an effort to alleviate overloading in landfills.
