PolyU has long been taking part in active ageing development in society. On 8-10 April, the School of Nursing organized a “Careers in Ageing Week” to gather scholars, researchers and practitioners from a broad range of disciplines to support the development of an active ageing society in Hong Kong. Through a series of activities, students learned about the prospects and challenges in ageing-related careers as well as the special needs of the elderly.
The University also established the Institute of Active Ageing (IAA) in 2010 to support active ageing initiatives. On 10 April, IAA held the Fifth Anniversary cum Active Ageing Week 2015 Opening Ceremony to gather stakeholders, sponsors and partners to witness the Institute’s achievements in research, education and application.
