This year, PolyU and Sincere Department Store jointly organized “Fashion Seoul 2015” competition again to nurture a new generation of fashion merchandizers. Two finalist student teams at Institute of Textiles and Clothing have earlier travelled to Seoul, South Korea, accompanied by popular artist Stephy Tang, to perform the role of merchandisers. They brought in trendy selection of Korean clothing and sold them at Sincere’s Causeway Bay store in Hong Kong for three weeks. The champion went to the team "SinFonia" for its outstanding performance in profit, visual merchandizing and promotion strategy.
Apart from gaining valuable retailing experience, student teams also benefited from the opportunities of networking with fashion design academics and students from Ewha Womans University, local fashion photographers and bloggers in Seoul to understand Korean’s fashion trends.
