Prof. Qiu Hanqin of the School of Hotel and Tourism Management recently received the John Wiley and Sons Award for Innovation in Teaching from the International Council on Hotel, Restaurant and Institutional Education (I-CHRIE), in recognition of her valuable contributions to education in the field at the university level. The Award recognizes distinguished effort in applying innovative, creative, and effective teaching techniques in hospitality education.

Prof. Qiu has been teaching China tourism-related subjects at both undergraduate and graduate levels. Apart from teaching, she concentrates her research effort on tourism studies, consumer behaviour and China’s hotel and tourism development and policy issues. She has also been actively involved in consultancy services and executive training in mainland China.
