With her knitwear collection themed “The 5th Season”, Katie Ng Siu-mui, a fresh graduate of the Institute of Textiles and Clothing, won the Overall Champion at the “Feel the Yarn 2015” in Pitti Filati, Italy. Katie’s distinctive design outshone counterparts from other world-renowned institutions as she became the first Hong Kong student winning this international competition. Her collection features pleated patterns in blue-and-white which gently present the amazing sight of subtle changes in glaciers. Using unique dyeing and weaving methods, she nicely brought out the dynamics and three-dimensional perception in her collection.
Recently, this collection was also recognized in a number of exhibitions and competitions, scooping Championship at the Knitwear Symphony cum the 5th Hong Kong Young Knitwear Designers’ Contest and Win Hanverky Inspiration Award at PolyU Fashion Show 2015.
